International Invoice Processing in SAP with bluDELTA

An international beverage group processed large volumes of incoming invoices from multiple regions and countries. Despite existing template-based and rule-based mechanisms, the high variability of documents created significant manual effort within financial workflows.

At the same time, invoice processing needed to be expanded in a scalable way across international operations and integrated centrally into the existing SAP system environment.

International invoice workflows involve different formats, languages and regional requirements. Traditional rule-based or template-based approaches quickly reach their limits in these environments and create significant maintenance effort.

In addition, new regions needed to be integrated within a short period of time without destabilizing existing workflows. A key requirement was therefore a solution capable of processing highly diverse documents in a structured way while remaining internationally scalable.

Alongside automation itself, seamless integration into existing SAP workflows played a central role.

bluDELTA was integrated into the existing SAP environment within just a few months and initially rolled out across the DACH region. Incoming invoices are automatically analyzed, relevant information is extracted and structured for downstream workflows.

Thanks to the solution’s strong internationalization capabilities, additional regions were integrated within a short timeframe. At the same time, manual processing steps were reduced significantly and the global finance organization was noticeably relieved.

The project demonstrates how international document workflows can be scaled in a structured way without replacing existing ERP and finance systems.
